Entre l\u2019Italie et la France, entre fiction et documentaire, le film retrace le parcours d\u2019un exil manqu\u00e9. Dans son atelier, un vieil homme tente de rassembler les morceaux \u00e9pars de sa m\u00e9moire familiale et reconstitue l\u2019histoire de ce p\u00e8re immigr\u00e9 qu\u2019il n\u2019a jamais connu. Sur les images du Latium, la voix d\u2019un jeune paysan italien depuis longtemps disparu nous raconte comment il a quitt\u00e9 son pays en r\u00eavant d\u2019une vie qu\u2019il n\u2019aura jamais. C\u2019est le m\u00eame r\u00e9cit d\u2019immigration et de retour impossible qui s\u2019esquisse, par petites touches.<\/p>
